phasing out matic(j)???S

I did a search on transmission oil and the wonderful people on this site told me to go to this website to get matic j oil https://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=3912&rsku=0. On here it states that nissan is phasing out the Matic j oil, and now they are selling matic s. It's a great price, my qustion is.... Can I mix the two when i do the drain. I have about 42k. and i am ready.

Please help.

Trans Service....?

Not sure if having the different Nissan trans fluid would harm, but by flushing
the trans you won't have any issues. With your mileage I'd flush the trans
not just drain/add fluid....!

hay i stopped by my local infiniti dealership today and they told me the matic j was discontinued, but the matic s is the same thing as the matic j and would work fine in the 5AT.

well i know we cant mix matic D with J, says so on the sticker on the car. but its common sense matic D came out first and J is a revision, matic D is for my 98 maxima. To me it should/could be backwards compatible just not forward. meaning S should work for J, D

thats how MOST fluids work. Just be happy its not 90$ GTR fluid =P

You heard flushes were bad, how is that possible? By doing a flush you're
just adding twice the amount of trans fluid. You drain the trans, refill and
let it circulate then drain and fill one more time....how could this possibly
do damage? By doing the flush this way you're insuring all the old trans fluid
is removed/gone. When someone makes a statement ask, WHY? They
obviously don't have an answer which leads to you're passing on misinformation....

Of coarse the stealership will tell you that. That want people to come back to the stealership so than can rape the of $$$ every time for the product and service.

But what about the warranty, if your trans takes a dump wouldn't using
something other than Nissan fluids give Infiniti the opportunity to throw in
the void towel? You know how the stealership
is, any chance to not give us service without charging us is like a celebration to them....party time!

I heard changing out your tranny oil once you hit something like 45k or 50k plus is a bad thing. As a matter of fact, I believe Sears and Pepboys wont change out your tranny oil if your car is over that ballpark milage.

This makes no sense to me, but they stated it has something to do with the tranny fluid NEEDING to have the metal shavings mixed in. Being that the case, then would that not make it that I can no longer change out my tranny fluid ever??? Just doesnt seem right.
