Re: When will the G35C have "full" power seats

The G beat it out in Motor Trend and R&T. But C&D still rated the 330 higher. And MT and R&T only rated it higher because of its value for the dollar. But when you define a car as a benchmark, in things like "feel", how the hell can other cars compete against that? Say I deifne the Lexus LS430 as the benchmark for "feel" because I like its balance between incredibly plush ride and acceptable handling. That means when comparing other cars to it, they would just dock the other cars points for being either too plush or too stiff! It would be unwinnable for other cars unless they manage a more Lexus-like ride than a Lexus! It's pretty unfair that in order to win comparisons on things like "feel", you have to out-BMW a BMW.

Spoonie, there are plenty of valid complaints about the interior of the G35. Lack of memory seats is a good one. A center console that was originally engineered for a right-side driver is another. The tendency of the passenger side seat belt to bang against the support pillar is a good complaint. The cheap feel of the door handles and fuel door is... well, a somewhat valid complaint. The rather tepid seat heaters are a valid complaint. The embarassingly ugly (my opinion) and easily scratched (opinion of many) "titanium" trim that comes with many of the G configurations is an outstanding complaint. They are also things that someone who has actually driven the car would know. Have you even sat in one? Do you know how comfortable the seats are, even without 360 degree electric motors?

I mean, what in the hell sort of kinky business are you doing with a MOTORIZED PASSENGER SIDE BACKREST that it's your biggest issue with the car? That's just nutty. Do you think your motive behind this thread would look sincere to a neutral reader right now?

Re: When will the G35C have "full" power seats

Posts ,on this particular website, that bring up negatives about the G35c are fine if they are by a G35c owner. I may be wrong, but this is a G35 only website. Non G35 owners should be posting on their own car websites such as BMW.

I agree with some of the points from the G35c owners. The interior is not the nicest I have owned. The passenger side seatbelt does occasionally make noise when it bangs against the side of the vehicle. The seats do not have memory.

I always go back to the fact that I spent far less money for this car then my other cars which had nicer interiors. I always, always have a smile on my face while driving this car.
I did not always have a smile when driving the BMW.

Why didn't I buy a BMW? I could have afforded one. Mostly because of the stereotypes associated with driving one. I always think everytime I look at the driver of a BMW, I'm going to see a guy with his hair parted to the side, a yellow button shirt (buttoned all the way), with a nice pink sweater wrapped around his shoulders, listening to the "lite rock" station. Scary think is, most the time I'm right.

Re: When will the G35C have "full" power seats

first one minor complaint after having had the car for a week now... I'm not the tallest fella at 5'6"... so my seat is a bit forward... everytime i have to climb in and outta the seat without the door swung wide open, it's not the most comfortable experience... kinda awkward getting in and out, especially in the garage without a lotta door swing room... but ahhh... once i'm in the seat... i feel like a jet fighter pilot... or a race car driver ready to conquer any twists and turns on the road...

that said, we should buy cars for ourselves... not because what some magazine says... not because of some award... not because of some advertisement... I love my G35... i have a passion for it that I have not ever had for any other car... but most of all... I love my G35 because I can afford it... despite paying MSRP... everytime the engine purrs, everytime someone compliments my car... everytime i feel the rush of power exiting a turn... I get such a joyous feeling and for once, I feel like I paid too little for this car... I feel like I have the upper hand in life...

Forget the numbers... forget the specs... forget the scores... it's all about feeling on top of the world when I'm behind the wheel of MY G35....

Re: When will the G35C have "full" power seats

True True...while cost had a lot to do with it, and the name Skyline had almost as much, in the end it came down to this, I don't like the build on Audi's, the looks of the IS300, or the size of the 3 series.

PS As I have the sedan with 8 way power seats, and 90% of the time I drive by myself.....I really can't see what your problem is. My parents have owned 3 caddy's and quite frankly the 10 way power seats just didn't do it for me...there's just no accounting for some tastes I guess...(just shoot me)
