I was thinking about picking up a mid-late 90s audi a4 quattro. I want a car that's 4WD, not many to choose from...

I would go with an old Jeep CJ7 or something 4WD since it is for the winter- Something that you can take off road and beat on with no worries. It'll be kind of a releif because if you are like me, you are always watching out for your G- being picky about parking spaces, making sure your shoes are clean before getting in... crap! what was that noise etc. It is kinda relaxing to drive our SUV which we don't care as much about. The funny thing, is that when I clean it up it still looks good as new even though I'm not as careful with it.

Audi's have electrical problems with their new cars, the old ones are probably worse...don't get an SUV, you'll never take it off road and most of them can't handle for anything..get a subaru and expect to spend a little more than 2k....

Actually, I was going to by this and drive it to work. Measly 70 mile round trip commute on the Indiana toll roads. Shouldn't have any problems dodging the death ice and drifts with a Segway! *yeah right*
