A poll about extended warranty.

Hello fellow members,
i have 05 g35 coupe which i love, coming to end of its bumper to bumper warranty this april.

i asked to infiniti about extended warranty and they quoted me 2500$ Canadian which is about 1970$ US +tax.
they said the warranty is exactly same with what i had (bumper to bumper + power train)
my car has 80.000km and this warranty covers 2 year another 80.000kms.
do you think it is a good idea?
anyone experienced extended warranty and they thought it worth buying?
i know its expensive if something comes up, but on the other hand our cars are pretty reliable so i wasn't sure. i am more on buying side but i wanted to get your ideas and learn any experience you had on extended warranties on cars.

Thank you.

All the G's up to year 06 are pretty much a typical simple VQ35 engine, identical to the maxima family, and are very reliable, if maintained properly just like an other car. If you have the extra money and can afford it, I don't see why not if you plan on keeping it throughout the life of the extended warranty....otherwise I feel secure in my car, if feels just like an upgraded maxima...

Warrantys....yea or nea?

My concern when I purchased my extended warranty was my AT not the
motor. Just like our members with MTs, with how we enjoy our cars and
use them, those MT and clutches won't last forever.... I paid less
then $1K for my warranty that covers me until 75K miles....cheap insurance
if my MT blows!

only two years? I thought they were usually 3-4. I bought one for my car though, it's worth the peace of mind to me.

well probably not too often does someone not need to use it....but i think even if u use their roadside assistance than the refund is voided.

my power train warranty has 2 years and 25.000 more kms. so here i am firstly concern about the stuff like compression rods, and noises, electronics windows etc, still coudln't make up my mind and i have 12-13 days left till the warranty is over
another thing is there are some after market insurance companies which my infiniti dealer works with
they offer 2 yr 40.000km for 1800$ canadian
and 3yr 60.000km for 2200$ canadian
finally 4yr 80.000km for 2600$ canadian
the infiniti one was 2 yr 80.000km for 2500$ canadian.
i am little bit scared of the after market one, i worry if they would be hard to work with incase of some problems.
any experiences would be appriciated thanks

PS: My windshield has white marks on it i don't know from what or how they are there but they can't be removed, i went to a glass store and they tried to remove it but didn't work and the guy told me to claim it on an insurance saying it got scracthed by the viper which broke off while driving.
do you guys know if it would be covered on my bumper to bumper warranty?
thanks again guys.

I have the Infiniti Elite 4yr 48,000 miles, 0 deductable for $1350 when my car had 25,000 miles (04 Coupe). When my CD changer takes a dump, this policy would have paid for itself. This doesn't count the window motors, actuators, compression rods, valve cover oil leak problem, etc. I would not own these cars without an extended warranty (Factory Infiniti Only!). Yes it's true that the engine and automatic trans are pretty much bullet proof. However, the rest of the car isn't.
