Door dings
Have you guys been getting any door dings on your coupes? I already have 5 small dings on the driver's side rear quarter panel, right above the inward protrusion. Is this area where most of the dings will occur? In parking lots I'm careful in parking at the rightmost spot away from huge family cars. In my garage I park next to my dad's S60 where it seems his rear passenger door can hit the exact spot of the dings. But he claims he never opens that rear passenger door. Please let me know if the occurence of dings in this area is common before I do something hasty like key my dad's car or move out of home

Once at a junkyard, I sat down in a nice F-body Camaro with the long doors and slammed it into the beater sitting next to it. It made a most satisfying crunch. Would never do that to someone's car in a parking lot, though. So far I've only got a few chips on the hood of my G.

Re: Door dings
I'm psychotic about parking...the way I see it...first and foremost...if you can park at the end or edge of the lot...or against something where someone else cannot park...you've eliminated the risk of getting a ding by 50%. And I always try to park next to the expensive cars...theory behind this is that they respect their car as well.
Sometimes if i park my car and there's an open spot to it with someone who is about to park there, I'll wait until they fully get out of the car...or try to park it somewhere where you can watch out of a window...oh my god I'm psychotic...

Re: Door dings
One of my pet peeves is people taking up two parking spaces with their car. It's O.K. if they do this way out in the lot where there are plenty of spaces, that's fine. (In fact, I'll be parking soooo far away when I get my G35.) It's when they obviously park like that close to the store. The other day I saw this cherry Mustang hogging up two parking spots parked diagonally across them close to the store entrance. Boy, did I want to key that guy, but fortunately for him, my civility prevailed. If I had and got caught, it'd probably be some guy 6'6" and 250 lbs who'd pound my head into the concrete.

Re: Door dings
I keep telling people that the day I go postal, it'll be with an industrial cutting torch in a parking lot.. and everybody that can't park gets chopped right down the white line.
