Just hit 1200!!!
Just hit 1200!!!
Well I hit the 1200 mile break in period today and all I can say is WOW!! I stayed below 4k for the first 1200 like the manual says and I got my first taste of what this thing can really do today...Question for everyone, is this car supposed to give a small chirp thru gears 1-3 under hard accerleration? or am I that bad of a driver? 2nd and 3rd the tires spun a bit and gave me a slight chirp but then caught quickly and went...Is this a bad thing, a good thing, bad on the car? Any good advice would be greatly appreciated...Also I just noticed when I had my car parked in neutral that a strong ticking sound was coming from what sounds like my exhaust every 5-10 seconds...Anyone else experience this or know of someone who has? I'd love to know if its normal or if I should be worried...Thanks ahead of time for the responses guys...I have to get back out driving!! lol
Re: Just hit 1200!!!
yea i definitely couldn't even wait to 1200. i heard that engines these days dont need as much of a 'break-in' period as they used to...so at 500 i just took off hehe

Re: Just hit 1200!!!
Ok, I understand some people didn't find it neccessary to follow this so-called break in period, either that or they didn't have the PATIENCE...lol, but seriously can anyone else shed some light on the hole tire chirping? Is this bad driving, or does this car just simply have enough power to do that thru 3 gears? Sorry for my ignorance, its my very first manual. I've driven plenty before not my own and never with this type of power...Thanks
