RS-R Exhaust
RS-R Exhaust
My friend was at a D1 show and he said he saw a Z with the RS-R exhaust and he recommended it to me. I was wondering if anyone here has any feedback on the exhaust's performance at all
Re: RS-R Exhaust
I have the RS*R exhaust on my coupe, and I am happy with it. It probably gave me the best noticeable performance (acceleration) boost out of all my mods. That's probably because my first two mods were the crawford plenum and Z intake tube with K&N filter, so it was waiting for an exhaust mod to take the fullest advantage of those.
It probably drops around 25lb off your car too, because it uses those small canisters. When you install it you will have a huge hole under your car where your stock exhaust was. You can really tell the power and/or weight difference when you shift into 2nd because the 'chirp' is now a 'squawk'.
The only complaint I have is I wish it wasn't quite as loud. I get some droning inside my car that's slightly annoying at around 2-2.5k,but goes away at around 3k or higher. This is with the silencers. I expected this though, because it's such a free flowing exhaust. I havn't heard the exhaust with the silencers off, but with them on the exhaust note is sort of 'wet' sounding.
I'd give the exhuast system a 9 out of 10.

Re: RS-R Exhaust
I can't comment on what kind of power the system might make. But it sure does have a awesome sound quality. I'd put it in my top 3.

Re: RS-R Exhaust
Well I've had the exhaust for quite a while now as they prototyped it on my car to get the exact measurement for the length of piping needed. I love the exhaust...and yes it is pretty darn loud w/o the silencers, but it sounds good. You will definitely turn heads if you come down the street w/o the silencers. If you're located anywhere near southern california I'd be more than happy to have you hear it. I'll see if I can get sound clips...
