Anybody khow if there's any K&N air filter for our Coupe? I found only CAI from Stillen. Appreciate your info!

 

I believe there was a previous post about it. Someone mentioned that they called K&N and was informed that the CAI was in the dyno testing stage and would be out later in the year. Think they also claimed it was dyno'ing with 10-12 RWHP gains. That sounds a little too good to be true though. Just search back through the posts for K&N CAI topics. Peace.

That must be not true because your can gain only 5 horses with the CAI by Stillen( say so on their website)
and it cause you more that $250, how much will that K&N replacement filter is gonna cost us?

 

I understand from a previous post it's K&N Filter part number 33-2031-2. But confirm with K&N corporate customer service to be sure. This filter, like the K&N Cone Filter Stillen set up is reoilable...you got to be carefull not to oil too heavy and contaminate the mass Air Flow Sensor which is in the air stream just behind the filter. Can anyone else confirm I got the right part number?

 

Yes, that is the right filter. Search this board for instructions to install. It will help, because the air filter is tough to replace relatively speaking.

 

My bad. I misread your post. I thought you were talking about a (C)old (A)ir (I)ntake, CAI. If you were talkin about just an out of box filter eliment replacement I would say the gains would be non-existant. I read another thread from some of the guys here and I think that most people said they had little or no gains from it. It's more of a convience thing I think. The filter costs alittle more than a stock one but it will last longer and gives a little more breathing room. I had one in my honda and noticed nothing. I'll be holding out till the K&N Cold Air Intake hits the market. This is a full Intake replacement for which small gains most likely will be seen. Peace.

Nice howto. =) Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see the K&N part # in the howto. Perhaps you could add it since it's an important piece of info...? =)

I was the one that spoke w/ the head engineer @ K&N...the owner is a family friend and I work w/ the head engineer as they have become one of our biggest customers over the past 3 years. I spoke with him about 3 weeks ago and he said the CAI kits were in production and due out in April, there was to be a short ram version as well, that the kits were putting 11hp to the wheels and the 3.5 VQ engine was "a pleasure to work with" :-)

So I assume we'll see the kits be coming available in the next week or two.
