Parking brake on G 35 coupe
Parking brake on G 35 coupe
I had to pull the parking brake on my 6MT while waiting on a traffic light on a steep hill and the brake felt very unstable, felt like I am going to roll back down (La Cienega and Sunset).
I was wondering if any of you have noticed any problems with the parking brake or have done adjustments to it.
I have 2300 miles on the car.

yuck man i hate that intersection at la cienega and sunset. The first night I got my car I was driving up to sunset and made the mistake of taking La Cienega... I thought I was going to die. ANyways,
You really need to pull up hard on the e brake for it to hold. Otherwise your car will roll back. I've had the same problem, as I'm sure most of the other MT drivers have.

Confirming what he said to make you feel better....yah pull up on the P brake hard. I can't get it to stay still on my own driveway unless i pull it hard. By the way...yah that intersection sucks ***....haha

When I first got my G my parking brake was loose. I think it says that it is supposed to click a certain amout of times. I would have to pull it up really hard for it to hold so I took it to the dealer and they confirmed it was loose.
Edited by banzaikid1 on 07/04/04 10:28 PM.

Re: Parking brake on G 35 coupe
this brings me to a question that I've been wondering for a while. My friends were telling me that the e-brake would get loose everytime you pull hard on it (which im noticing now-a-days, the e-brake isn't as tight as I first got my car), which is true...I THINK. But anyway, when or HOW do u know that it's time to get it tightened again? Or is there no way to fix that...

Re: Parking brake on G 35 coupe
I also have been experiencing the same e-brake woes! My driveway has a slight slope and I can tell it is becoming harder and harder to get the car to stay put.
The question I have is how to get the e-brake to release once you pull it up as high as you can? I have no problem putting the e-brake on, its just hard trying to disengage it once I get it up as high as I can. Any tricks or is it just a matter of pure force???
