Coupe Service Bulletins
Coupe Service Bulletins
All -
I recently went in for my 15K service at a local dealership (joke - I got most of the important stuff done for $120). They were surprised to hear me request that they look into a service bulletin. One bulletin (Reference# ITB03-052a) refers to a "squeak and rattle repair." I didnt have this ref # with me at the time so I didn't ask them to look into this so I don't quite know what it deals with. I suspect it deals with some of the rattles that most everyone has experienced (sunroof, rear view mirror, etc). If this is something you're experiencing I would give the Infiniti service desk a call to see what exactly it deals with.
The other bulletin release (# ITB03-028a) refers to a "steering drift to the right" on 03-04 G35 Coupes. I had this looked into as it was the only one I recalled. It turns out that my G was one that needed servicing in order to fix a drift to the right that just didn't seem to go away. The dealer didn't charge me for parts or labor but did try to sucker me into an alignment. I'd rather do it somewhere else as they wanted $120!!!!
Anyway, the point of all this is that the dealer isn't necessarily aware or may not even make it a priority to look into the latest service bulletins that Infiniti puts out so make sure to ask about them whenever you bring your G in. Since I "work" for Nissan (indirectly - contracted by them) I can get a hold of their "insync" newletter that is meant to be provided to all dealerships. I will do my best to post any new bulletins I see.
Cheers.

Re: Coupe Service Bulletins
I got my 6mt aligned at a Nissan dealership for $40.
I've found that the Nissan dealerships will do the same scheduled/unscheduled maintenance as the 350z's for literally half the price. It's almost insulting.
I know many other G owners who only go to Nissan for non-warranty service. Partially because we only have 3 Infiniti dealerships here in NC, and 2 of them suck.

Re: Coupe Service Bulletins
That's exactly what I tried to argue but they wouldn't budge. They indicated that the service bulletin didn't mention an alignment just a part replacement. I think I'll call Infiniti and ask them about it.

Re: Coupe Service Bulletins
No, replacing the part that makes the car drift to the right doesn't throw off the alignment. I think the part is called the compression rod that they replace. I had mine replaced and my car doesn't drift to the right anymore. I double checked with my dealer and they said no alignment is needed when replacing the part.
