Tire noise and Brakes @ 11K miles?

Re: Tire noise and Brakes @ 11K miles?
My brother in law in Texas has a Z and managed to talk his dealer into replacing the tires under the "bumber to bumper" coverage. Any chance of getting replacement tires from Infinity? After all, it is technically a defect that is causing this. Maybe after they start handing out tires they will figure out a fix for this. I've only got 3500 on mine and I am already noticing it.

So you have feathering and the car was well aligned. <sigh> I (and my dealer) were sure that was caused by mis-alignment, and that alignment would fix it. (Actually, I had more serious problems than feathering - I was seeing pretty deep, uneven wear. And my car was not in alignment.)
I will keep an eye on mine...

Anyone actually been through the customer service approach with Infiniti yet? What was their response? Are they pushing the "live with it" version or are they helpful with recommending a particular remedy through the dealer? Never had this problem with almost 20 years of BMWs and Audis prior to the Coupe. I would hope they address the problem and not nickel and dime me to death! 2004 DP/Willow/5AT/Wheel/Tire/Prem

Re: Tire noise and Brakes @ 11K miles?
Hey, I took my 6mt to the dealer last weekend for the same thing...11K mile oil change also. I had moderate noise starting at 7K miles and it got progressively worse till the current 11K miles. I told the dealer (Clear Lake Infiniti - Houston) about the business that happened to the Z's and he said they checked and adjusted the front toe and camber. When I picked it up last evening, it was louder than ever. Man, I am p.o.'d to say the least. I am going to the dealer first thing tomorrow morning for the service manager to take a ride-a-long to hear for himself. I'll reply after they make a decision about what to do.

Re: Tire noise and Brakes @ 11K miles?
The dealer is switching the front tires for me, since the toe adjustment just made it seem worse. I gave the shop's head tech a short ride and he instantly knew what it was. The inside edges got the wear, so he says by switching them so that the outside edges (not worn) are now on the inside, the noise may go down until they start to wear unevenly too and hopefully by then the tread will be close to it's final limit. I've got 11.5K on them, so if they last till 20 or 21K I won't complain, but I am definitely going to look into a different tire to replace them with.
