dealing with a low car

Hey guys. Just a quick question, how careful do you guys have to be with your G being so low? I can't ever tell if im being way to cautious or not when backing out of a driveway, going through a dip, or going into a parking lot/driveway that is higher than the street. My front bumper on the right side is pretty scraped up (it was like that when we bought it) and recently I didnt realize how steep a driveway was when I was backing up. I ended up hitting the bumper on the driveway and the only thing I can notice is that it moved the headlight housing up a tiiiiny bit to where its not completely flush with the body but its pretty minor.

1. Is there anything I can do about the headlight? Do you think I could pop the hood and see if I can muscle it down just a litle bit and it might work?

2. What would be the best way to make the bumper look better since its scraped up on one of the sides where the previous owner obviously scraped a curb? I don't have the money to completely replace it considering I'm only 18. I'm almost thinking of having a body shop just fill in the scratches (theyre white) with silver paint so its at least less noticeable. Thanks for any help!

Also, I'm absolutely dying to do a few inexpensive mods just because it will be fun for me. What would be good in your opinion? Heres my car

theres a 10mm screw holding the top of your headlight that has some room to adjust, maybe it was moved out a bit, its a pretty easy fix

do you have the sport bumper? if not, cover the bruises with an OEM Lip.

the oem lip doesnt really lower the front that much it just shapes out the front giving it the aggressive edges, the pic you posted is that your current drop? you might need some glasses bro cuz you shouldnt be hittin ****

also, try hittin driveways and steep streets at a 45 degree angle, this way your tire catches the incline first so it lifts the car along the grade.

me scraping the bottom of the bumper has only happened once, like i said the scratches on the right side of it are from the previous owner. how much (after installation, painting, everything) would you guess putting a lip on it would cost?

what about just filling these scratches in with some paint to make it not as noticeable?

the lip (Best Price) should be about $341, the advantage of the OEM Lip is that it comes painted and a perfect match to your color from factory, as far as installation that depends who you go to, but I can tell you that I am very bad with doing my own installs, like terrible and it took me about 6Hrs to install, but its really not that hard, i'm just so bad at it.

and filling it in with touch-up paint will look like crap imo

HAHA i cant believe your asking this question, if you think stock Gs are low try driving a lotus. Anyways answer to ur Q, if u see a steep driveway, please angle it meaning angle to the right so your chances of getting a bottom out, or front bumper dip first are very low. If your making a right from a drive way angle, or turn a bit to the right before skidding out. GL

My car is pretty low and I do have to be careful. It is a price I am more than willing to pay.

ROFL. Yes, the learning curve is quite steep

I don't know your exact budget but as for cheap mods one of the cheapest also makes the biggest difference IMO.

Get some clear corners to replace the nasty orange ones up front. $35-40

I'm lucky my all my previous cars were lowered.
Right now my G35 coupe is just lowered on stock 350z springs (still waiting for them to settle a bit more) but even at stock height while it's not THAT low at all, I still take them at 45 degree angles.

Patience and carefulness is key!
good luck.
