if you've changed your in-cabin microfilter then you know how to get to the navigation system harness.
Pretty much how you do it

I like my switch better tho

The way the NAV works is that when you're moving power is sent through the VSS wire to the NAV to tell it to lock you out. When you're stopped there is no power. So by cutting the wire and putting the switch between the sender and the receiver you can control if the signal gets through and make the NAV think you're sitting still whenever you want.

Well you have to cut it anyways... In order for this to work you have to physically cut the wire in half and connect each side to the switch so that the switch can interrupt the signal.

If you're going to use one of those connectors go with the smaller one (red I think) and then tape it up with electrical tape.
The vss wire is really small and blue won't hold it.

seymore4 -- Are you planning on shortening the wires? I hate having to bundles wires together IMO. Unless it's a 700 Watt power supply for my micro ATX computer case

Yeah I didn't realize how much extra wire I actually had till I had it all put together

I just ziptied it all together and left it there. It's not hurting anything hidden behind the panel and if I ever need to remove the center console I have some slack in the wire so I don't have to remove the switch and rewire it.

But I totally understand how you wouldn't like it

You are the man Seymore. Thank ya thank ya thank ya lol. One of the most annoying things about the nav. Cheap DIY FTW.
