I agree that sometimes the first thing people mention about my coupe is the Brembo's. Infiniti would be making a huge mistake by not having the Brembo's on the 6mt as it's a well known name brand not to mention great non-fading braking power. I would have preferred red rather than gold, but I can't complain too much :P

 

If this is true, that really sucks. Having the Brembos was one of the coolest things about my car....you keep good company with the red ones poking out of Porsches, etc....

Dealer confirmed there will be no Brembos for 2005. There will be different/larger standard brakes, but they won't be fancy like the Brembos.

 

It would cost about $3k (parts labor....possibly more. I don't know the exact cost, but this should be in the ballpark) to put the brembos on a regular coupe. Now think of the mods you can do for $3K....If $3K doesn't buy you 15HP, then you're doing something wrong! Get the Brembos! I am sure they will be available on the 05'!

If that is the case, the press release should have stated that Brembo's are gone. Damn, they need to release more info.

I still think they are keeping the Brembo's for several reasons:
1) Better performance than stock, esp in track driving
2) The "ooohs" you get from Brembo name + the look of the gold showing through the wheels
3) No mention of it except through dealers who don't always have their heads on straight.
4) 6MT will need good brakes for bigger wheels and more HP.

The first thing I look for when I see another G (or Z) are the Brembos. If they arn't there then I know the car isn't really worth looking at anymore. They MAKE the car.

2003 6MT with 26,000 miles....My Brembo pad still have well over HALF of the pad left...just had them inspected by dealer..
When clean they never squeak....

When I had my 03.5 sedan....I changed the brakes at least 3 times during my 17months of ownership...NO BS I have the paperwork to prove the labor charges...This was before INFINITI agreed to extend the warranty on the brakes and refund prior customers who pre-paid for worn out pads...I was upset...In November of 2002 my 2003.5 Sedan sport package w/navi was sold at $40,000.00 + TL hence I leased it...
I was disappointed the sedan sport auto wasn't offered BREMBOS....Finally I decided to get out of my lease and "PURCHASE" my current 2004 6mt cpe. I gave up the NAVI and went for the "BREMBO'S & HEATED SEATS & 6MT"...WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW...

Almost every day, people come up to me and say nice ride or they give a good hard look at the car and the BREMBOS...People ask if I had the BREMBO's installed on my own and I say no...those are stock from the factory as an option...

Mine squeeked up till 5,000 miles...and it doesn't have too much brake dust like the stock brakes...STOPPING is excellent as I always tend to "rev" between stop lights and "brake hard"...Other than the GOLD coloring, I'd prefer RED like the one's on PORSCHE's...

INFINITI LISTEN UP - LEAVE THE BREMBOS IF NOT STOCK...AS AN ADDED OPTION...AND ADD SLOTTED ROTORS WHILE YOU'RE AT IT!
