New G35 coupe or used BMW M3?

New G35 coupe or used BMW M3?
Help me decide guys!!
I think I can scrape enough cash to get a 2001 used M3 with less than 30,000 miles for around 36K. On the other hand, I can get a brand new G35 coupe for around the same price. I love the looks and newness of the G35, but the nameplate, history, and performance of the bimmer has me hooked.
G35 coupe
Pros: Fresh designs, great value, NEW car vs USED, only my a$$ would have driven in it, great performance, great dealer service, full warranty, can smoke 95% of all cars in straights and twisties, and most of all, japanese reliability.
Cons: Not many cons, but doesnt have the name the bimmer has, performance although good, not as good as the bimmer, resale will not be as good as the M3's either.
BMW M3:
Pros: Supercar-like performance, very-well respected nameplate, rich history in performance racing, can smoke 99% of all cars in the straights, as well as twisties. Excellent resale value. Depreciation hit already taken by previous owner.
Cons: Reliability concerns, not full warranty, snobby dealers, outrageous parts and labor costs, USED.
Im really having a hard time deciding.
My brain says get the G35 coupe.
But then my heart says get the M3.
My d;ck really doesnt care because I'll pick up hoes in either one...![Smilie](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

LOL true....... Becarefull wit those hoes, u dont wanna catch anything =)
Anyway, the M3 I LOVE!!! Crazy performance and looks but it is used after all, the G35 no complaints here, both are sick cars but its really what you want. I say go for the new car? Or maybe used? I will be in an EXACT position you are in now, but for me in 2 years. Drive both and see if its the performance you really want, the G coupe 6spd is very fast but compared tot he M it cannot be compared. GL with your decision, Martin

No brainer. Get an used m3 if you don't mind driving used. You want new, get the g35.

Get a new g coupe and get your G modified with the money difference of G and M3,then you could easily smoke a new M3,even one with SMG.

What do you mean? Smg m3 are slower than manual m3s.
Turbo your G35c = voiding your warranty with infiniti at least. Maybe Greddy will pick up the warranty, I don't know. I'd rather drive an used m3 even if engine inside the blow up period but have the 10 year engine warranty. If you blow it they will replace it with a brand new one.
If you drive fast its more likely you will be in an accident. I feel safer wrapped around by german steel . I have heard a lot of m3 accidents where the car is completely total to a point you don't think anyone can survive it. Yet a lot of them walked away from it. I am not talking about no back pains and airbag burns after losing control at 80-100mph but you live. :-P

Re: New G35 coupe or used BMW M3?
There is no much to say. SMG M3 is faster than M3 6MT no doubt in most situation if you are not a professional racer. Most people are daily driver and making fun in their cars, also there might be someone who care the warranty, but if you want really fast, who cares? There are bunch of modified G35 coupes in north America. I have read one post, which I might not remember where I saw it,talk about how SC G coupe blew M3 under the state that he let M3 go first and had about 1-2 car on him, then beat it.

Re: New G35 coupe or used BMW M3?
i had the same problem deciding which one i would get...
here's the list i made
g35- new, unique look, reliable, full warrenty, never abused, performance upgrade friendly (turbo) but for the cons like you said.. the name isn't very popular..interior features suck.. plasticy...non-bi-xenons
m3- fast, looks WIIIIDE, name is popular, interior features are way better except for their 2001 crappy navigation, and the nice bi-xenons.... as for the cons,....overpriced, not as reliable as japanese (especially with the 2001 bmw m3 engines blowing up), gets dated REAL quick (it looks kinda old already with the new style bmws comming out), at a glance it looks like every 3 series on the road (and there are like a million 3 series). performance modding wayy to expensive for what i want to do (turbo)..
hope that helps

Come to think about it, if I had to do it all over again, I would get the M3 used
