Re: G35 0-60 Automatic
As someone who also drives an IS300, I can tell you the G35c is MUCH faster. Auto IS300 0-60 is around 7.5 s, Edmunds.com got a G35c auto to 60 in 6.2 s - that's a huge spread.
I don't think the IS300 is slow (that is, it's competitive vs. most entry-level luxury sports sedans) & it was certainly fast enough when it debuted. However, the G35c is just so much faster.

Re: G35 0-60 Automatic
I had an '02 IS300 with a K&N intake and L-tuned exhaust. I loved the car and sometimes I miss the handling.
But quite simply the G is a faster car. One thing that I would comment is that the manumatic mode shifts funny (slower) than the IS.
Stock, I measured about 6.23 to 6.35 0-60 times on my Beltronics FX2 performance meter (same as a Passport G-timer). My staging is at 8 inches to be more "consistent" with track times.
I upgraded to 18x8.5 wheels in the front and 18x9.5 wheels in the back (lightweight Enkei RPF1's). Overall weight of the wheel+tire is 3-4 lbs lighter than stock in the front and 1-2 lbs lighter than stock in the back.
With the combination of more traction and lighter wheels I got down to 6.07s. Same stretch of road, I didn't even mess with "launching" . Keep in mind it is ~100 deg outside here in Dallas.

Re: G35 0-60 Automatic
I get about 5.9 based on a ploynomial equation from a regression of my track times for the 4 measured distances.

Re: G35 0-60 Automatic
I thought that I heard someone say that they got 5.9 stock.
Most of the mag times are done before the break-in. I would expect at least a couple of tenths better after break-in. In the AT there is a huge difference in performance before and after break-in. I've heard of some getting 14.2 stock in the 1/4 mile under good conditions.

Re: G35 0-60 Automatic
I did a 14.22 1/4 mile fully stock, with about 1600 miles on it....55 degree day, 400 feet above seal level, VDC on, foot from brake to throttle, no power braking. 6.16 seconds 0-60 on the same day. 1/8 to 1/4 tank of gas, loaded with every option. I figured I was about 3655 pounds that day. Crosswind component was about 5 knots.
With a plenum and cats I've pulled slightly lower times but at 84 degrees and 4500 miles on it. This translates to about a 14.06 "corrected" due to temperature.
Temperature, altitude, pressure, wind and humidity make a huge difference.

Re: 0-60 times
For the 6MT, the best I've done on a cold morning was 5.402 according to my G-tech ProComp (calibrated at the track three weeks earlier). The best I've done at the track (poly fit) was 5.527.
