What Springs to Use with Tokico D-Specs??

Okay guys so I have searched and searched and come up empty.. What springs go best with Tokico D-spec struts? (and by go best I mean best performance wise - not necessarily lowered the most)

Feel free to rate your setup with D-specs over stock or other aftermarket setups you have had... Also try and include your spring rates as well

Thanks!

I don't think there's really a best spring out there.. everyone's opinions will vary based on the drop and spring rates.. you wouldn't get a really low drop w/ harsh spring rates if its your DD and you live in a city with lots of potholes and bumps, as you probably wouldn't want a very mediocre drop if you are going to be showing a lot and not drive it much and are just in it for the "looks".. so it's really up to you which springs you want and I think there's a couple threads that show the drops/spring rates of the springs. This is just my honest opinion tho..

^yup

it all depends on how low you want it (what you like the look of and how low you can handle) and how stiff of a ride you are looking for as well.

Performance is all I am worried about. Harshness in a DD i don't really care about - a fair trade off for top of the line performance imo haha... I won't be showing it so deep drop is of little importance to me (but would be cool). Basically Im kinda wondering what works best with the D-specs besides the "spring package" that you can get from tokico (cuz i hear its good but could be better)

I think there's a couple threads that show the drops/spring rates of the springs.
I read most of those threads and they all went over my head cuz I don't really know how much spring rates change the feel of a car (besides like less is soft and more is stiff).. I know you can have too stiff (and not get enough body roll) or too soft (and get too much roll) but im not sure where the cut off is (stiff wise) before you lose performance and thats kinda what i want to know...

I have the same shocks and here's what I am running spring-wise:

Rear: 350Z S Techs (will require camber kit, NO question)

Front: 350Z OEM revised springs (no camber correction needed)

Here's how I came about this odd setup:

I had the revised OEM springs on initially, but the back didn't lower enough. So, I put on the S Techs in the back and the drop is perfect, but I needed camber kits.

In the front, the S-Tech drop is a little more than the Z springs (which are perfectly fine) and I really didn't want to risk needing front A-arms, so I just stuck with the Z springs in front. Rates are pretty much the same.

The handling is night and day compared to stock. Make sure you get yourself sway bars and a strut bar and you will reduce body roll by 2-3 times. Don't be afraid to stiffen up your shocks, either.

Also, while you are doing this I would recommend you get the adjustment extenders and have your installer run them into your trunk so you can adjust your rear shocks without taking the seats, etc. out.

Good luck

Wow! Thats a crazy set up... I'm my installer (haha) so Ill defintely get those extenders Thanks for the advice. What kind of camber kit? (basically I got no idea what that is haha besides that it impacts the angle that the tire rests on the ground)... O and how are the revised springs different? Where did you get the springs?
