Lesson Learned - turn off the VDC before you drag.

He got the jump on me for about 50 yards because the VDC works rather well. However after I passed him he followed me. Called someone on his cell and then sticks the phone out the window so his friend can hear the 6MT G as it purred.
I like my G more and more every day

Well I didn't pass him until about 50 yards from the light. I wanted to totally blow him away from start to finish, but couldn't make a faster start with the VDC on.

 

Sounds like you wasted your gas! lol But, sometimes it's a small price to pay to shut those weedwacker ricers up!

I doubt VDC can make your car that slow or shut the power down for 50 yards, thats a long time LOL!!!! You dont have a turbo or anything that only does that in the top of first or second either that makes your wheels spin like crazy. I thought u got killed by a turbo civic or something. Fast POS's lol.

He is a ricer because
- his seat was so far back, I could barely see the top of his head
- 2 sets of fog lights
- he has more stickers on his car than my 8 year old daughter
- clear tail lights

When the light turned green, his front tires were smoking it just thru me off my game. I was so surprised !!

I say if you have front wheel drive you should not be burning rubber. It looks so ridulious

Ever thik that maybe it wasn't the VDC, and maybe it was the simple fact that you were wasting too much time starring at the smoke from his tires?

if he is a ricer..u shouldn't let him had 50 yards on u...in any case....

if his seat was so far back...u probably can only see the FRONT of his head..but not the top..even if he lie down..u would still see his face...

you would not be able to notice his 2 sets of fog lights either if they are ON or OFF...especially from 50 yards behind him...

as to stickers...its personal taste i guess...excessive can be funny =)

Haha...but hey i kno what u mean by the VDC. I have a 5AT and with VDC on and flooring it at the green light, your car doesnt move for what seems like an hour. My friend who has a modded '00 Eclipse GT races me all the time. With VDC on, he SLIGHTLY pass me at the start until about 100 ft or so (guess?), but after that, its all gravy. Hes eating my dust the rest of the way. I raced my friend again by slightly pressing the accelerator to gain traction at the start, so the VDC wouldnt kick in and then i accelerated hard right after. It seemed like i launched better by doing that. With VDC off, your tires spin forever when launching and I hate killing my tires cuz THEY EXPENSIVE, but it does feel like the car is putting out a bit more power.
