tonite i was stuck in traffic on the major deegan on my way out to yonkers to visit a friend...i was stuck in the middle of good 'ole yankee stadium traffic. Im listening to some music - not crazy loud...when an E Class pulls up next to me and i see the lady in the passenger seat yelling towards me...so i lower the radio and her and her husdand (in a brand new E Class) are yelling across the highway to me "WE LOVE YOUR CAR!" so i said "Thanks you have a great car too" - they said "Yours is gorgeous do you like it?" i said "i love her and am sooo happy with her" they said "congrats and good luck that car is incredible"

this made my whole nite...lol
just figured id share that with you - they were really nice people im guessing from CT cuz they had CT plates (lol)

ahh that was my first official "other driver" compliment on the car...im soo happy...!!!

Let see I got awsome compliements from people who drive mostly Jags, Merc's, Cads, and even once from some fart in a old Bently on intersections, and mostly after chruch on sunday . They say the car as well as the color choice are awsome. My usual response is "I will be happy to exchange it for yours" Its weird I never got a compliment from a guy who drives lower class vechicle like honda hehehe...Anyway better enjoy it while it lasts.

 

I got a "good" compliment the other day too.
Was standing in traffic in the Bronx (Co-Op city), when an old couple
in a new Cadillac CTS pulls next to me and old fart goes: "Hey, nice car, is that a Honda ?...." [img]/w3timages/icons/mad.gif[/img], I go: "Thanks, no it's an Infiniti...". Since his compliment really pissed me, I felt like being a wisea$$, and so I continued: "That's a nice car too... is that a Hyundai?...." I don't think the guy appreciated it too much. ho well...[img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]

I got some great compliments a couple of months ago in my kids' school parking lot from a 2003 M3 convertible driver parked next to me picking up his kid. I gave him some compliments on his car as well.

I hate how Bimmers and Mercs have the name "class" associated with them. It tries makes it sound so.. I dunno elite

 

I think it's only Mercedes really, as in C class, E class, etc. BMW tends to call them "series" - 3 series, 5 series etc. I agree that it sounds a bit imperious in Mercedes's case.

 

If you think BMWs and MBs convey an aura of superiority upon those who own them, then the marketers at each of these companies have succeeded in shaping your perspective. I believe there are those who purchase a BMW and/or a Merc who merely desire to accumulate the trappings of wealth. They may even affect an aire of superiority while they drive their "elite" cars, to accentuate/project the effect more clearly to the rest of us. They would never compliment you, apologize for cutting you off, nor offer assistance. For those who do not need to cultivate, maintain, nor project a superior aire, no matter what they happen to be driving, they would give a compliment when a compliment is due without hesitation. Good for them!

I was coming out of Home Depot one night and a brand new Caddy was circling my car over and over and over again (i park way out in the boonies)...

when I got up to it, they rolled their window down and said "that's the prettiest car i've ever seen....do you like it?" made my night

its a great feeling being i went from a 2001 Altima to this car. Funny thing is i know this chick that LOVES escalades...BUT in my car she's like "eh"
