What a difference between a 5AT/Transgo shift kit 5AT!
Met with Derrick(Dsskyline) to video my car which is the stock 5AT and Derrick's car which has the Transgo shift kit. I drove both cars while Derrick filmed and I can tell you there is HUGE improvement with the shift kit. I drove mine in D/Manual and his the same way, he will be adding links for viewing later. Due to the parking lot I could only get the cars from 1-3 before having to stop so I could feel the 1-2, 2-3 shifts. When driving normal you can't feel the kit but when you hit it WOW, this is the way the car should have shifted from the factory. Instead of the car "falling" into gear it bangs in.
I have the fluid and shift kit and nothing but excuses as to why I haven't done it...sigh...

It is not a cheap one as the lit is at least $250 amd the 8 qts of fluid are around $8 each...and then depending on your mechanical skill level you may have to pay someone to install it. I installed 5 of these kits on Mustangs but these are a little more complex.

In the drivetrain section there are some threads about it...Derrick should be getting the video's up sometime tonight and I am sure he will chime in....I have the directions from Transgo for the removal of the VB and the install of the kit if anyone wants me to email them to you so you can read/decide for themselves if this is something they want to try.
Keep in mind if your VB gets screwed up they are about $1k as the computer which is coded to the car is part of it so you have to get the VB from the dealer and they have to special order it...not trying to scare anyone, just giving you as much info as possible to make an educated decision!

If i do decide to do this mod then there is no way i will be installing this myself. I would rather pay an experienced shop to install it than risk damaging something if i try.
The valvebody mod is one of my favorite mods i have done to my car.I have had it on for about 2 years and i love it.

What upgrade package did you go with? And do you think it'd be worth it for a NA car?

The shift kit part number is RE5RO5A-HD2. The car I drove last night was NA as well as mine is and after driving both of them it is definitely a worthwhile mod for a NA car. This is a must for the track or street racing if you do that.
I bought mine used from a moderator over on my350z.It was a forged performance modified v/b.It is def needed for an FI car but i still think it would be great for a NA car.
