well i have an '06 5AT and i have been noticing that after accelerating(most noticeable after hard acceleration then letting off the gas all together) the RPMs will start to drop, but then hang for a few seconds before finally upshifting to bring the RPMs back to normal for not being on the accelerator. i was wondering if this was normal for the AT G's, or whether i should bring it into the dearlership to figure out the problem.

 

Buy 4 quarts of Redline MT90 from Summit racing and change the fluid. It will help if you catch it quick enough.

 

i just had my 30,000 mile service done like 6,000 miles ago. shouldnt they have replaced the tranny fluid then?

 

Shouldn't they have is the question, check your billing to make sure. What he's telling you is that even if they did service your AT, by adding the Red Line synthetic fluid it will shift better. Google Red Line for a parts store near your location that carries Red Line, no reason to pay for shipping.

I have no experience using Redline Auto Tranny fluid in cars because all mine are and have been manuals. I'd feel better using Amsoil for that application. Maybe someone else with more firsthand experience with Auto-tranny fluid can chime in with firsthand useage info about AT fluid in our cars.

 

I thought it warns you to use only nissan j-matic fluid in the trans? or are we talking about differential?

 

Red Line recommends using their D4 ATF which according to them replaces Nissan J-Matic fluid. The quality of Red Line synthetic products far exceeds anything they use from the factory. Questions: do a search under Red Line don't just take my word for what you should/could use in your AT.... but this is what I use!

hmm okay.. i wouldn't want to void my warranty with something like fluid lol but thats cool =D
