I'll never understand what some people have against overlays. I have 'em on my G and I had 'em on my last car, too. If done properly, they look great -- and they're easily removed.

If you don't have much experience with painting, and you give it a try -- you can get some awful results.

You can always go to your local tint shop to get 'em to tint your tails for you. That's what I did. They tinted my tail lights, third brake light, and sidemarkers. And my windows too, of course. Duh.

The reflection and shine of overlays will never match that of paint.

That's definitely true. But like I said, unless you definitely know what you're doing as far as painting, or have someone that you trust with the painting .. overlays are the safer route to go, and it's reversed much more easily.

Not everyone wants the completely blacked-out look, though. I didn't. Less trouble from the cops if you're still able to see some of the red. Around here, at least.

And you CAN go black-out with tail lights, it's just a matter of using a darker film.

I agree with Jen. My tails are painted black, and they look waaay better than any over lay I've seen. Rush is right about it being the more difficult route, but its a much sexier route if done right

Ahh I just installed my freshly painted tails yesterday. I even bought overlays looked at them, and was like nope.

So if anyone wants them got'em for cheap 03-05 coupe.
