Tire Pressure monitor issue

So, my tire pressure guage started going off occassionally on the freeway. And when I turned my car off, it dissapeares until the next time i use the freeway.

I check my Tire Psi regularly and there all fine.

Now, the light stays on, and I get a chime everytime I start my Car, but the tire pressures are fine.

Btw, the Psi sits at 30, in 57 degrees F

Can anyone point me to the right dirrection.

thanks/.

30 seems a bit low to be honest.

My 04 doorjam suggests 35.

^ +1. Mine went off (although I was driving in town at about 30mph) when the tires were a few psi below from what it suggests. Your best bet is to get them to the suggested psi and see if it still does the same thing.

A couple things may be happening. One you are running the air too low (which it seems like you are not) check the air the morning prior to you driving the car. Two you have a sensor malfunctioning or three you need to have them reset. I would recommend you checking for any nails and any leaks just to be on the safe side. I run my tire at either 28 up front and 33 in the rear or 30 up front and 35 in the rear. I have really stiff tires so i run them a little lower.

Your TPS is working....!

Just for fun, put the air pressure Nissan recommends in and let's see what the results are. If you're using your guage, you might want to verify it's correct too. (most aren't)

try bumping the pressure up to 34-35 psi and see if it goes away.

thanks for the reply guys, I'll try to bump the Psi when I get a chance.

Btw. Im running the 19" OEM Rays with New Hankook V12 tires.
2 weeks ago, I took it to Infiniti... they check the pressure and said it was fine and tried to charge me for an hour to diagnose the problem. Prior to this, I had them do a pre-owned inspection and they didn't seem to find the problem then.

Definitely bump the pressure up to 35 PSI. Chances are that either your pressure sensors in the car are miscalibrated, or your handheld tire pressure gauge that you are using to figure out how much pressure is actually in your tires is off by a few PSI and causing you to think the pressure is OK, when in fact it is not.

You'll want to keep your tire pressure up around 35 PSI anyways so that you don't get irregular wear patterns, decreased fuel economy or additional rolling resistance.

Good to know, as I'm also having this problem. I bought the car with aftermarket wheels and don't know if the sensors were installed. Anyone got a PSI suggestion/recommendation for my 20" Falken 452's? I know they're 50PSI max, but I also know I don't need/want to run them at that. Right now, they're all around 30PSI.

Thanks.
