I have had two instances where the NAVI would not work and i had to eject the CD and re-insert it while driving to make it work.

For the first time it actually came up with DISC ERROR and won't have any NAVI capabilities.

Wondering if i got an effed up disc.
Anyone have similar experiences?

Its a heat problem....ITS ALWAYS A HEAT PROBLEM!

 

I drove mine to Palm Springs and back in the middle of the summer without the navi skipping a beat. Maybe it's not the heat, but the humidity? ;-)

 

Not sure what the issue is, but for $2k I would have the dealer take a look at it and possibly replace it.

 

Yes this is a very common problem getting a Disc Error where the nav unit fails and needs to be replaced. Take it to the dealer and it will be covered under warranty. Most likely you will have to make 2 visits to the dealer. One for them to diagnose the problem and order the parts, then 2 weeks later, bring it back to have it installed when it comes in. Infiniti leaves a lot to be desired for not using quality parts or materials.

 

I was planning on calling up the dealer and give the service manager an earful about it.

Freaking Navi decides to start working this morning. I pop the screen up and hit OK. Then it goes to disc error again. So i just look up my mpg info. Then it blacks out and comes up with the Bird View.

Still gonna visit the dealer this weekend. At least call them on it.

Next time it fails, press and hold the Map and D/N buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds or so to put the system into diagnostic mode. You can then look to see what component is failing.

It did it again tonight.

I did go into the Diagnosis and it appears the Center Control Unit is abnormal.

Shyte.

Its the heat. Mine does it when its really hot. Happenned 2x already.
