no more pinstripe *what a pain!*

Yeesh! I am glad its over... That was the biggest pain in the butt. But all the hard work paid off . I sat there for 3 hours saturday night peeling it off and then all sunday trying to clay the sticky crap off my car. I ended up taking it over to a detail shop and having them finish the job. *I started to remove the finish with the clay... oops!*

You can still barely see in some lights the outline of it, but I figure it will fade over time.

and the before...

I don't know why some dealerships put it on... and why some people are willing to pay extra for that crap.
Good job removing it. Looks so much cleaner.

if you need to do this again, order a 3m pinstripe eraser. it attaches to a power drill and takes off a whole cars worth of pinstripes in about 5 minutes.

Why would you think you could remove glue with clay? Best way to remove anything sticky from your painted surface is with GooGone or WD40, just like debadging. The purpose of clay is to remove surface contaminants but must be used with detail spray so it glides while doing it's job.

Well... I didn't know... Thats why I ended up at a detailer's shop :P. The guy was like, man you did a number on this but I fixed her up for ya.

Learned my lesson.
