Sunroof FAIL

So, I get in my car today and get ready to drive back to my house, and I wanna open the sun roof. Not like open it open it, but hit the close button so it vents, you know? Anyways, it didnt wanna go up automatically. So I held the button and it went up. At the very top where it would normally stop, it made a bunch of cracking popping noises. So I stop, and when I push the close button, nothing. I figured maybe it got stuck? So I push down on it firmly and hit the close button, nothing. So I hit it while pushing the button, nothing. So I got a chainsaw.... lol, jk. Anyways, I drive it home, and have my girlfriend press on the other side. It shut about half way but there's still a gap. It'll open all the way automatically again, but it'll only close half way.

How screwed am I?

*EDIT* yesterday I got it to close all the way, on my fingers... but its closed. Not it'll open the vent ONLY when I hold the button, and it struggles to close. And I cant get it to open all the way up anymore.

Have a dealer look at it and hope it's just a minor fix.

I'm thinking maybe something got caught in it. Half way through my grounding kit install, it was getting windy and was kicking up a bit of dirt, nothing too bad. So I put the negative cable back on, and closed my windows ands sun roof, and it was fine. After I was done with the install is when it started getting stuck. I'm thinking maybe something got stuck in the tracks thats not allowing it to open. I'm gona mess with it abit today and see what I can muster up.

It might be the motor in the sunroof, same thing happened to me in my old Prelude.

I had to push up on the glass to get the sunroof to open, but it would close on its own.

Thats just my .02, it might be something different, and if it is I hope its only a minor fix.

Good Luck bro...

I got it fixed by hitting it. I got pissed one day, and since I'm not under warranty or extended warranty, I just hit it. This has worked for me in the past with a few things. Broken boombox back in the day, computer, things I can't remember. So, clearing my fingers after getting them pinched in it once (that was some unbelievable pain), I just hit it. Hitting the open and close buttons while pounding on the middle of the back edge of the glass, where the weather stripping is. Something popped back into place and it has worked fine ever since. So beat the **** out of it if you wanna chance it. it worked for me.
