A 03 coupe is only worth about $15k around here with decently low miles. 75% of that is about $11,000. A theft recovery with both bumpers, interior, wheels, brembo and stereo gone might creep up to that amount w/o any damage to the body/suspension

But... if the vendor has replaced everything properly, why would he lowball it and not just sell it for 13-14 thousand?
Or, if the vendor is selling it as is (missing interior, bumper, wheels, etc), it's going to cost the OP almost the same to replace it.... no?
Not sure how he could come out on top... ?

That's the problem, we don't know. A theft recovery could cause a salvage title. The insurance is going to determine their numbers based on retail costs of used parts. Originally Posted by g35dalf

If the OP was at all handy, he could rebuilt it with parts people are selling privately and possible come out in the black.
But again, it all depends. If the right car came by and if it was for the right price, I could do it. Him? Have no idea.

I have four crashed G35's at my house just right now and have had 13 in the last 5 years. When buying a salvaged car you should pay around the "trade in cost" 2004 Infiniti G35-V6 Coupe 2D (AT/6 Spd.) has a clean retail of $16,250 but the trade in is $10,450

Now remember that is a ruff gide line to go by. There is so meany ways to total a car, flood,fire,crash,theft,vandalism,ect. Each one is worth a different amount so dont say "but this, or that" Yes theft is great to buy because you just need parts and it was never hit. BUT it will cost more then a flood or fire that needs a lot of work.
Oh and fyi to all the people saying "dont buy frame damage" The car is a unibody so there is no "frame" The car does have rails that are structural but they can be replaced just fine if you are trained in how to do so. There are sections that are made to take a hit and sections that are not. You would rather not buy a car with "structural" damage because you dont know how it was fixed. I dont mind at all because I work at the dealer andwould rplace the part with OEM parts and weld it in with the same welder,seam sealer and paint the factor used and it will be just as good.

Just want to make sure you and other people know there is not one set price like your asking for what a totaled G35 is worth. It all depends on what happend to it

I did unintentionally buy a damaged Integra years back that had a bent rail and suspension out of whack. Hey, I was young and didn't know ****. The repair bill was more than what the car was worth so I lived with it. But I learned and personally would stay away from salvage. But you're right, with good connections in OEM parts and proper knowledge, saving money is possible.
