I have a 2006 coupe, and I have a rattle coming from what sounds like the driver side air vent. I have taken my car to the dealership several times to try and get this fixed.

However, I live in Seattle and the only dealership around is on the newer side of town. All the streets around the dealership are brand new and super smooth. Whenever I take a mechanic out to have them listen to the rattle, it doesn't make a sound. I told the dealership that I would drive someone over to Seattle (10 miles) where the roads are rougher so he can hear it, but they told me that their insurance does not cover their employees doing test drives that far away from the dealership.

The dealership has been pretty good about working with me to find the problem. They have replaced the air vent on that side a couple of times (I guess the 06 coupes had problems with those anyways) and spent a lot of time looking at my car. They still cannot find anything wrong with it. But, every day when I drive to work, I am driven nuts by this rattle.

Has anyone had a rattle coming from the driver side air vent by the window? If so, what was the problem and how did you go about fixing it? Any information I could take to the dealer as a place to look would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

The vent on the right of the driver side was rattling when i got the car. It went away after a few miles. Now i have sun roof rattle and rear deck

 

Ya I have the same rattle, I too would like to know what to do about this. Sometimes even when i'm going down a smooth highway i get rattles. It is a very quiet rattle, if i put my hand just on the plastic of the vent the rattle goes away, nothing wrong with it, it is just bothersome that we have expensive luxury/sports cars that have rattles. I don't see any bolts around the area that i can tighten however.
