Oil Consumption Issue and Short Block

Oil Consumption Issue and Short Block
Hi,
I just wanted to make sure I'm armed with the right info before talking to
dealership, who currently has my 04 g35 coupe. its also at 69,500 miles.
I'm deal with Jim Coleman Infinti in MD and I had told them its
consuming too much oil. They topped it off and asked to bring it
back after 1500 miles, at which time i would need an oil change anyway
and they would check the level. After bringing it back, they finally agreed
it was consuming, and gave me a loaner so theyd do some other tests.
After 10 days (yesterday), I get a voicemail that they only received
authorization for the short block of the engine and that Jim Coleman is going
to see if INfiniti will replace whole engine. but for now they are going to just
do short block.
When I had initially come to them about this issue (1500 miles ago) they
printed out my oil service records and circled times where there were
larger gaps between oil changes from them to claim this could be an issue
related to that. I told them i dont buy it and I would fight that claim
to the end.
Anyways, just not sure what to be prepared for. Have a bad feeling they're
going to claim entire engine replacement needed and that its on me. This
is becoming worst possible scenerio fast.
Advice? Things to mention before i call back?
thanks

Okay just got off the phone from rep from Infiniti Consumer Affairs. They will only
authorize replacement of short engine block. I said why and she couldn't give me any
reason. First they said something about how they would have to replace cylinders
for a new engine. I said, from what I know, replacing engine would take a dealer
one day and the short assembly block 3 days, introducing more human error and more
nuts and bolts. Also I have only 500 miles left on warranty, and this could intro
more issues later, as compared to full engine replacement. The lady had nothing to say except for ' that is nissan/infiniti 's decision sir, anything else?' . she was an unbelievable a'hole.
She also refused to give me a fax number or anybody's number, or her supervisor's name.
She only would give me the mailing address of Nissan Consumer Affairs.
Anyways, is it worth fighting for the long block? I only wanted to pursue that
since the dealer said it was easier for them to do full replacement, but they(jim coleman) couldn't win the fight with them (i had to take their word on that). I'm only
worried about this not fixing the issue, and seriously devaluing the car, as compared to
long block replacement. worth fighting??
