235/17/50 Wide Ovals on the Front of 04 Coupe

I have 235/50/17 Firestone Wide Ovals on the back of my 04 coupe. There is no 215/55/17 or 225/50/17 in the Wide Oval series. I read here that some are running the 235/50/17 Wide Ovals on the front. Are there any speedometer issues? Also, would the Firestone Firehawk GT 225/50/17 be a good match to the Wide Ovals in the back?

I think speedometer readings are based on the diameter of the wheel and not the width.

toyotabike is correct. When you start getting larger wheels the speedometer will become off depending on what size you go down/up to, not the width of the tire. A google search should give you a graph somewhere.

OK, good to hear there is no speedometer issue.

Anyone with long term experience running the 235/50/17 on the front?

By the way, here is a neat little calculator that may help you.
