What does everyone think of the ugly looking Chevy MonteCarlo (latest model)? Are those cars fast? Has anyone in their G raced one?

 

I raced one with a rented Ford Taurus a couple of weeks ago when I went to Miami, and pulled away, about 4 car lengths from a stoplight! The kid was driving a new Monte Carlo. But it was pretty funny when he stopped next to me at the next stoplight and saw his buddies laughing at him inside the car. I'm sure if I was driving my G35C I would have passed the next light before changing to red before he would even get to it!

The only Monte Carlo that might compare is the Monte Carlo SS V8 that will come out but even that one only has about 243hp

 

A G35 would flat out kill a Monte Carlo. Dude, get a subscription to Motor Trend or something.

But, I will say if you beat that kid in a rental Taurus, he must be the worst driver in history.

don't waste your time, i smoked one with no problem. he was trying to ride next to me trying to get to race. i look over and rolled out. didn't see him next to me any more that night, not even at the next light.

 

Don't race the ugly cars. Most of the time you'll win, but it would be even more embarrasing if you lost to an ugly one.

ever see those 'pimped' out monte carlo SS's with nascar racing paint and lots of #22 stickers on the windshield (or whatever # of racer they like) they are sooo... blah

what do you mean by "most of the time you'll win"

G35- 287hp, 273tq(from the last dyno), 3400pds
MC- 200hp, 220tq, 3400pds.

i don't care what gear ratio the MC has, there is no way in hell it could even touch a G35.

I think he means if you get beat by a SRT-4 Neon or an Evo 8, those kinds of ugly cars.

 

atlantic, how did you get those dyno numbers? Added 20% to your RW numbers?
