the 5AT is fine, especially with the manual mode option. don't let that dissuade you from buying a very good automobile

^ Manual mode still isn't the same as a real manual car.

Yeah, hills are the worst. Especially when the people behind you are on your tail.

But that only happens once in a blue moon. It all depends on what you want and will you regret it in the future.

I have a 6mt and have no regrets. The only regret I will have is when it starts burning oil.

yeah, its more convenient, and with a VB upgrade, much quicker than a 'real' manual car.

Quick or not, still not as fun to drive as a real manual car. Which is why we see a lot more threads about people regretting buying an auto. Theres even a few threads on "how to convert to manual"..

Anyways, it's up to the guy. Who cares what we think. It's his car.

I have both... so I'm not biased.

I love the automatic transmission on the G. By far one of the nicest out there.

Oh and I agree with Rob, if you're on the fence. Get the MT, or you will most likely regret it.

I think the "Sport Shift" garbage in the AT is just that, garbage. But having driven both the 6MT variant feels like a completely different car. If you're goal is to have fun get the Manual, if you feel like you'll get lazy (Which I don't see how as shifting a six speed becomes almost subconscious after a while) grab the Auto.

Also I personally think the manual transmission in terms of feel, etc blows in the Z/G compared to other cars (S2000, etc) but you get use to it until you sit back into a car with a nice tranny.

Just remember that the later year (05 and up) 6mt's have the rev-up motor w/ 20 more hp and limited slip was an option on the auto's.
Just food for thought.

Nothing wrong with the 5AT as long as you have the valve body mod.
