Hello,

I live in Houston and have to deal with traffic all the time. The 5AT is a lot of fun. I installed a grounding kit a month ago and the shifts in MM are much quicker than before and during spirited driving, kick in with a jolt. With a VB upgrade you'll be chirping tires. As far as whether I regret it, kinda. I love MT with a passion. But there is nothing wrong with the 5AT. All in all, it's your call. I'd say go with the MT, but with the traffic definitely go with the 5AT. Enjoy your new G!!

i think the new 370z auto-manual tranny solved the issue, awesome set up but again $$$$ needed.

Not much fun in an automatic.

And the traffic excuse is getting old. You know UPS drivers, and other big rigs drive manuals? And they drive a lot more than we do. Even the USPS trucks are manual. And they go thru lots of stop and go traffic.
Why is that getting old? that's not an excuse it's a fact. UPS and other big rig drivers? lol that's their job...

But why is it that only auto drivers are complaining that they don't want a manual because of traffic? LOL I dont' see any manual drivers wanting to trade their 6mt for a 5at...(same car).. The only time would be if they get an entirely new car. Like a SUV or truck.

But I see plenty of 5at wanting to get a 6mt of the same car. (a lot or regret getting 5at).. I don't see that many regretting getting their 6mt. Sure we complain about the notchy shifting and the clutch grabbing way to high. But not driving a 6mt in traffic.

I don't even think about it when I'm stuck in traffic.

^^^ Doesn't BMW still offer their SUVs (ahem, excuse me ... SAVs) with manual transmissions? Or did they stop doing that now?

Its what ever you prefer, I got the 5AT cause my wife doesn't like driving stick anymore. AT works out well for me cuz florida drivers suck, and there really isn't much Winding roads down here. I MISS GEORGIA. lol.

The 5AT isn't bad, its still a G and always fun to drive.

What do other drivers being bad have to do with you having an AT or MT?

City driving? AT for sure. But if u want to have fun, MT. I chose to buy a 03 MT with 85k miles for $9.5k instead of a 05 AT with 45k miles for only $13k.

Real men drive MT. Lol

I don't get why some 5AT owners wish they had a 6MT.... didn't you guys test drive your car before buying it? Lol. Choosing the right transmission for you is a big deal when buying a car..... It's not as if someone forced you into buying a car you didn't like.
