yesterday i drove to a deli two blocks away, parked, went in and got some stuff came out to the car and when i tried to start it the engine would turn over like normal. and usually you hear it start up with the exhaust note but (trying to explain this the best i can) it would like half start and just die out. it happened a couple of times before it finally started but then the engine service light came on and has been on since. i'm not too sure what's wrong with it does anyone have any ideas?

Well to start with, what's the OBDII code? Go to an auto parts store that will let you borrow a scanner if you don't have one...

 

Ok well it probebly means that when it died out, is ALMOST started, but just wasnt enough, so usually the second crank is gonna take a little longer because you have more gas to burn,
Now, if its not doing it anymore and it works fine, just drive it, usually if a code clears it the light should reset auto within a few days,

if not well you might wanna have a scanner hocked on

 

^thanks alot for the info. after it happened it ran just fine. and ever since then everytime i start it it starts up just fine, no hesitation no nothing. tho that light is still on..i'm thinking about bringing it to the dealer i'm not very mechanically inclined..

 

Something very similar happened to my car about 2 weeks ago. Turned out to be a faulty throttle body (covered by warranty).

something similar happend, i drove it with the light on for about 80 miles and it reset itelf. drive it for a while regular, for like a week
