Jokers idea....^....is the way to go. You're not being dishonest, just playing their game which we all wanted to do from 16 to 25 when the rates dropped considerably. It's not easy being 16 paying for your car, insurance and gas....as I recall!

I am 20 and I pay around 250/mo for full coverage with 1 speeding ticket currently on my record. The broker I went to did some shady stuff haha. I went to a lot of places before them and got quotes all for around 450 a month.

Im on my parents, but my mom has worked for Allstate for 32 years so we get some discounts.

Still didn't change the fact that a coupe was considerably more per month vs the sedan.

What does this post have to do with coupe vs. sedan? OP is looking at getting a coupe. Coupes are classifieds as sportier cars in insurance terms, thus higher rates. Seems like someone always has to turn stuff like this into my sedan dick is bigger than your coupe dick....

^Just stating my findings that its a lot cheaper on the insurance to get the 4 door. Looks like some one is getting a little butthurt.

^ not really. Just wondering the relevancy of 2dr vs 4dr in this post? 2dr, 4dr... who cares, theyre both Infinitis, theyre both sexy cars. We're talking about OP's insurance rates on a coupe, not how many doors your car has. A lot of the posts I read always tend to gravitate towards the 2dr. vs 4dr. pissing match

Well, that wasn't really what i was aiming at. I was merely trying to state that if insurance is that big of a deal for him, that there is a cheaper option while still having a G.

Sorry if my words got misconstrued.

Kids and their cars

This is why insurance rates go up on cars.... my first car was a 94 ford tempo. paid $400 dollars for it and i babied it cause that was my ride which i paid for. Paid my own insurance to which was half the price of the car every month. A few cars later i had a scion tc. i get a letter from my insurance company that states. This type of vehicle has been involved in alot of accidents. guilty by association my rates went up $20 a month.

Im 21 and mine is 240 a month, i have 2 speeding tickets and no accidents. Check around, but yours is probably going to be around 400. Your best bet is going to be on your parents insurance, and then have someone like your mom or dad be the primary on the G, and you be the primary on the minivan, or some other car that doesnt have 290+ hp.

yup we have a 87 montero just sitting on our drive way going no where, and we pay like 400 for 4 cars a month, not bad compared to what some people pay here, we have 08 a4 avant, 08 lexus gx470, brother 03 altima, 87 montero, ill tell them to put me under the "montero" rofl and have my dad as the G, my friend is doing that with his g37, and his moms a lawyer so i guess nothing wrong with that technically, when my dad called a while ago and wanted top remove the monetro cause its just been sitting there for years now, our agent told us that even if we take out the montero and have 3 cars, surprisingly our monthly bill would go up, so he just has it on their for now, and its cheaper dont know y.
