Repainting the 6MT Brembo calipers

Hey all, I do like the Gold colored look of my brembos but I would like to have red instead. Any one here repainted there 6MT brembo calipers? Not sure if the G2 kit would do a decent job on account of the glossy finnish on them.

Here's a pic of my rears, the paintwork on them is done, they're just baking in the 100 degree heat now.

The front calipers I bought off ebay, they came red. I'm not sure exactly which car they came from. The rears are OEM 6mt calipers, and I've tried to match them up to the fronts.

I just used red spray paint. And I carefully painted the brembo logo on the rear calipers.

Looks great! So did you rough up the paint surface on the rear brembos..?

No, I just cleaned them off with a small amount of rubbing alcohol, masked the pistons, and started painting.

Here's a pic of them with just the red basecoat and logo. I've added several layers of clearcoat over them that you can see on the first pic. I took one of my front calipers off to give it a few more coats of clear coat as well.

Looks great !
How did put the Brembo logo on? Is it a sticker or painted?
If it's a sticker, where did you get it, and if it's painted, how did you paint it?

Thanks.

Thanks for the compliment. The logo is painted. I downloaded a pic of the brembo logo, cut masking tape in that shape, and was able to create a stencil with the tape. I used white spray paint (obviously the calipers already had the red basecoat at this point). Then clearcoat everything.

Re: Repainting the 6MT Brembo calipers

I used clear enamel that I bought from the car parts store. I forgot the brand, sorry. It was about $5 a can. I've layered on several coats of clear coat to give it an OEM like shine.

Here are some more pics, they are kinda old. I'm trying to save up $$ for Stoptech 2 piece rotors in the rear, but I'm having more expenditures than expected these few weeks.

so you painted right over the factory Powder Coating? and the paint is sticking ? cool. Hopefully the paint will hold up. Good job.

Re: Repainting the 6MT Brembo calipers

Again, the front Brembos came red. I bought them off ebay. One of them had some deep scratches, so I had repainted part of it, and the paint has held up for the past 6 months or so.

For the clearcoat, I used many thin layers to prevent bubbling.
