Wheel doesnt straighten when turning
Wheel doesnt straighten when turning
Searched the forums but havent found a related solution.
I noticed recently that when turning my car, the steering wheel does not return straight all the way. It will slowly straighten halfway and I would then have to manually straighten the wheel myself. I checked the power steering fluid, and it was still half-full. Also, when turning, the steering wheel makes a very light creaking noise (only when turning).
Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Still could have a problem. Wheels straighten from an adjustment made in the alignment specs. I can't remember which spec it is though. If that spec isn't correct, it could have the effect you're having. There's more to an alignment than simply making the wheels go in a straight line, especially on a car like this with 4 wheel independent suspension.
Do you think it could be something else like a loose/worn tie rod or worn rack? I'll probably bring it in for someone to look at this weekend, but not sure if I should bring it in for a general mechanic to look at it first or an alignment place.
the rack and pinion has an adjustment for this IIRC. Just take it somewhere ( dealer? ) so that they can adjust it.
