Ok, I've done a TON of searching and have found a TON of DIY's and what not on the passenger side grommet located behind the battery. Figured I'd say that before I get flamed about using the search function.

As the title suggests, I was wondering if there is (I mean there's got to be) a grommet located on the drivers side of the car.

what are you talking about? Running wire? Was this supposed to be attached to another thread? Welcome to the boards by the way. If you have any problems or questions just ask. But these guys are firm believers in the search tool. Plus it will save you a lot of time.

This was supposed to a new thread. I want to run wire for a switch that want to put somewhere around the VDC button (probably to the side or above or below it). I'm aware of the passenger side passthrough behind the battery but I didn't feel like taking my entire dash apart to run wire to the drivers side, so thus I'm wondering if there is a similar passthrough on the drivers side (I'm almost certain there is, so I'm asking where it is).

The switch will be used to toggle auxiliary lights on and off (Halo's, and I'll probably get flamed for admitting that), but obviously I need wires into the cabin to switch anything on or off.

you won't get flamed for halo's. I personally like em as do many others on here while others can't stand them. Why do you want to hook them up to an additional switch? Wire them directly to your parking lights. You don't need to run wires that way nor do you clutter your dash with pointless switches.

I thought about that but I want to have the Halo's light up independent of the rest of the lights on the car (so sort of like a daytime running light option). I plan to do a multiwau switch. Position 1 is off, position 2 is on by themselves and I wire them to make be switched on only when the ignition is on, and position 3 is controlled with the regular headlights.

I'm also toying with the idea of wiring the clearance strips to a switch so I can choose to have them on with the parkings lights as usual or with the Halo's.

Where is that exactly?

You can still run it from the grommet on the passenger side and pull it across to the driver's side just above the floor carpet, or maybe even tucked under the carpet. You don't have to remove the dash to do this, maybe just an extension of the overall length of the wire.

drilling a hole will risk you of water leaking through. The grommet on the passenger side also need to be placed back properly to prevent leaks there too, if you plan on removing it temporarily.

Just make sure you pick up a grommet from the hardware store to seal it - something I haven't done yet.

Where exactly did you drill? Driver footwell?

probably the biggest pain in the *** to do. I came behind the radio from the driver side and through gromet behind the battery to get the wire to go to the battery. There is no firewall access (that i can see) on the driver side of the car. Good luck!

i've drilled a few holes in my past cars to get through the firewall...haha that's always fun
