1) i'm sorry for the long post, but i'm really frustrated.. is there any way i can make them get me the keys?
i can get the keys from ebay, but isnt the dealer supposed to provide atleast one master key when they sell the car??

----- is it a certified car? if not then some dealers will cheap out on keys

2) does anyone know how much a locksmith or dealer would charge to program the transponder? i couldn't find the cost in any of the other posts..

for i key's, its usually like 50 bucks i believe to reprogram as many key's as you like... you just have to play for the key blade and key fob.

3) also, how much would it cost to fix dings on the hood and behind the driver door?

pdr will probably cost you about 100-300 depending on the dent.

4)has anyone else had such an experience at ROSENTHAL NISSAN MAZDA?

no.

OP, did you get anything in writing saying that they would give you the keys and fix the dings? Written documentation is crucial when buying a car, new or used-- I NEVER take a car salesman at his word; if he won't put it on paper and sign it, the deal is off. Without that, you can harass all you want, but they are not legally bound by any agreement to accommodate you. If it's not in writing, they know that, hence why they're probably ignoring you. If you do have it in writing, I'd definitely show up and raise hell....

Ya that's a good point. It just seems like they don't care if you start bad mouthing them to friends or online. Money comes before the customer. Once they squeeze all they can out of you, it's on to the next customer.

unfortunately, i don't have anything in writing saying that they would get me the keys and fix the dings. The salesperson ( who isnt answering my calls now) asked me to come last monday, and then postponed it tomorrow, to fix the dings..
the same with the keys - once i was done with the financing stuff ( at 12 in the night) he gave me the valet key and said he'd get me the keys later..

Wow, sucks you don't have anything in writing. I'd just show up there every day and make a minor scene. Eventually they'll do something to get you to stop showing up and potentially costing them business.

sorry, I skipped to the last post.

I can't understand the dealer not having a full set of keys when they can just make them at cost...

My dad bought a pre-owned pathfinder and the dealer only had one fob at the time. We were supposed to go back and get another but that never happened. It was a while ago.

If buying from private sale you should always ask for a full set of keys. If not, ask why.

Dealerships are full of scumbags. It's possible one of the techs ripped the keys off and went to sell the fobs on ebay for someone else to reprogram to their car.

My G was actually purchased brand new by my brother, under his name, and after 1 year he traded it in for an Evo 8. Less than 3 days later my dad had bought the car back from the Mitsubishi dealership he traded it into (we got it for what my brother paid for + $75 infection fee - still stupid move on my brother's part since we had to pay tax). When my brother bought the car, it came with 2 sets of master keys (Programmed Key with Fob) and a valet key. Both sets of master keys had an Infiniti logo key chain on the ring when he turned them in. When we bought the car 3 days later, one of them was missing.

My brother turned his spare/valet keys in the day after he did the trade in since he didn't have them on him. I suspect that the tech that "checked in" the car after the trade in probably jacked it before putting the car on the books, and the only reason the other things were there was because my brother turned them in the next day.

First thing I will do is go see if your state has any stipulations that allow you to return the car for this sort of thing. If there is, use that as leverage.

The next time your salesman reschedules, just go in for your appointment anyway, and make up the same BS excuses they keep giving you.

Take the time to go in EVERY day and raise some hell. Be easy on them the first couple times, just walk up to the sales guy (make sure it's when he's with a potential customer, better yet, when they've sat down to discuss things more seriously). Raise hell about how they can sell you a luxury car without a remote to unlock the doors. Then raise the question if it's a stolen car. Maybe someone valeted it and the valet guy drove it off and all he had was the valet key. If you raise an issue about a dealer selling stolen cars, it'll get their attention fast.

Also, threaten to hire an attorney to sue them. Better yet, if you have an attorney friend, have him drop by and pay them a visit so they can see how serious you are.
