Have you ever raced at a track? Yes or No question.

Man I love these I am holier than thou comments. I have been to a track therefore I am better than you. For the record, I have been to tracks and autox but I still have so much to learn. Just because someone goes to a track that doesn't mean he's a better driver than someone else. He can be an bad driver going in and a bad driver coming out.
The truth is you don't need track experience to drive on regular roads. If you do DMV will make you take track lessons. Like Z06 said most people don't track their G35s and that brings us to the conclusion that suggestions made by regular/everyday drivers will be more relevant and personal for potential car buyers.
Skills from track can definately enhanced your regular driving but who needs to take tight corners at high speed or do hairpins on surface streets. If you do you are no better than a bad driver. I don't see how track experience is really applies to this topic or this car. Most track junkies will not buy a g35 for a track car, STI, EVO comes out of the box ready to race. (Of course this is a personal opinion.)
Also, I'd like to know what are these complains on Brembo. Hate to repeat but please show us what are the problems. The only thing I am guessing is Brembo pads/rotors are more expensive to replace.
Lets not digress on the topic.
1) It's on Brembo
2) We don't care if someone has been on a track or not.
3) Just because he hasn't been on a track doesn't mean he's an idoit BUT it doesn't prove he's not either.

Re: no more Brembos
Yep
If these brakes are so bad, why is Nissan keeping them on this special model? 4 pot Brembos like we used to have.

Re: no more Brembos
i've searched 'brembo problems' on freshalloy.com in the z forum and have not found a single post... i found two in the g forum, but only one thread admitted problems with the brembos. the other did not. whatever.
honestly, there were NO problems with my brembos. I used to have massive dust but i didn't see that as a 'problem'.. it was a tradeoff. the stock organic pads were soft with a comfortable pedal feel without any squeeling at all... perfect for a luxury 'sport' coupe. however, i didn't like the performance of the stock brembos because i was an avid canyon carver. i've lost my pads in matter of months, so i opted for the hawk performance plus. firmer pedal feel, stops in a dime but has lots of squeeling in cold starts. warm up the pads, and everything is a-ok.
my point being, the average consumers do not care for the big orange-gold calipers... they only care for the numbers laid out by the manufacturers and critics. the non-brembos seems to work just as fine as the brembos.. although the brembos help fight against fade which is more prominent in spirited driving situations. either way, infiniti will have to make more money; take away the 'expensive' brembos and add in more engine goodies... seems to be the better alternative atm.

Re: no more Brembos
i suspect, as many others, that the issue with the brembos for the '05 was only a profit margin concern. the only major brake concern for the coupe was for the 5at. either way though, i hope at least they paint the new brake calipers. if not, i may have to just paint them myself : )

Re: no more Brembos
I doubt they are a "profit margin" concern. As a note of history, the R32 GTR, R33 GTS and R34 GTS all had 4-piston 11.7" vented front disc brakes with 2-piston 11.7" vented discs out back. These units were made by Sumitomo. The rears are identical to the later Z32 rears. When the R33 GTR moved up in performance, Nissan moved to Brembos which continued on the R34. I still have yet to see anything on this other than a rumor. There is no official annoucement by Nissan/Infiniti that the Brembos are going away.

Re: no more Brembos
Ya Loren, there is. The following is a copy and past from Infiniti's 2005 specifications that are now on the web site. They list these brakes for all Coupe models. They are larger than last years standard brakes, but slightly smaller then the Brembos. Also they make no memtion of the number of pistons. They did in their specifications for last year on the 6MT. 4 front and 2 rear. They are gone.
BRAKES
Front: 12.6-inch x 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc
Rear: 12.1-inch x 0.63-inch power-assisted vented disc
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA)
4-channel/4-sensor Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

Re: no more Brembos
think about it. if they manufacture their own parts or subcontract out parts, it is cheaper. if they buy brand name, it costs more.
every dollar (yen) counts.
i know they are eye catching, but from what i've read, the stock brakes stop ALMOST as well. yeah, yeah, in an accident or race, who cares about almost. but....
wonder if the new brakes will be covered under warranty.
