new jwt clutch, harding shifting, transmission problem. Need help!!
i have a 04 6mt coupe. i bought this car in dec with 87,000 miles. i had an engine flush and a transmission fluid change at 88,315 miles at Meineke. everything was fine before i had these changed. After i got the car back i noticed it was hard to get in 1st and 2nd. Didnt really think anything was wrong because it was cold. Two weeks later i noticed my clutch went out. Called infiniti and explain what happen and they told me that they might have put in the wrong fluid for my transmission. So i brought it in and they told me that my cluch is burnt out. I told them i already knew that and thought they told me to bring it in to check my transmission (which they did not). So i ordered a jwt clutch kit and had it put in. I got my car back today and noticed it was really hard to put it in any gears. I dont want to drive my car around and have the clutch burn out on me agian.. What should i do?? thanks
Typically, things get better when you flush/replace fluids, not worse. So when something does get worse, there is an issue, and you don't want to be throwing new parts into the mix while trying to trouble shoot that issue.
Good luck.
Good luck.

that is no help at all. What is the name and weight/type of fluid used? Of course a computer can never be wrong.
on the invoice it was import trans fluid. Thats the reason why i brought it up to infiniti so they can check to make sure its the right fluid because they sugguested that might have been the problem but when i took it in, they did not do that. they said they thought i had an auto so the fluid should be right. they said my problem was a burnt clutch, which i already knew
However, the reason I suspect it is that the clutch in my G went out over the course of a few thousand miles.
One day I noticed that the engage point was pretty far back and the clutch engaged very inconsistently. I dealt with it for probably close to 5000 miles. Then, one week, my dad drove my car to work a few days, and ended up valeting the car on the last night he drove it. I drove it the next morning and the clutch slipped like crazy. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. I didn't bother trying 6th since I more or less knew it would slip. (I figured that valet must have tried a burnout with the clutch weak and the clutch slipped before the wheels broke loose.) I continued to drive it though and over the next 100 miles (during which I was driving as smoothly and nicely as possible to be nice to the clutch), it actually came back and no longer slipped. After about 1000 miles I just got a new clutch cause I was tired of babying it and being afraid to have some fun.
The point to my story is that my clutch did not go out overnight as yours seemed to.
I had the car for about three weeks before it went out completely. My clutch pedal was hard to push went i brought the car. Maybe it was going out before i bought it. Im going to bring it back up to meineke on Monday to see if maybe the fluid is low and after that ill bring it up to the place i got my clutch done. It drives fine but really hard to put into gears. Especially reverse.. do i need to drive it more and it will get smoother?
The 6MT is very sensitive to the oil viscosity and type of oil. You must use the viscosity and type specified in the owner's manual. If you don't have an owner's manual, you can download it from the Infiniti website for free. I had used Royal Purple gear oil and even though it was the correct weight as specified, the tranny would have a high pitch whine until it warmed up. I changed to Amsoil of the same weight and solved the problem. I think your clutch & transmission are two different problems. Get the transmission oil changed to the correct one specified in the owner's manual. The wrong oil will cause the synchro gears not to mesh properly, thus prevent you from being able to shift, in which case you may not even have a clutch problem.
