parking brake?!?
parking brake?!?
Does anyone else think the parking brake on the 6mt bites? I had just steppped out of the car (engine idling) in a driveway with a modest incline when she started rolling down (with my son in the back). I barely got back in, averting a major disaster. The brake was pulled back firmly, though not to the last notch. I also had one instance where it felt like the brake stuck, despite fulling releasing the handle.
Re: parking brake?!?
In order for the brake to enage you really have to pull it hard. It gets tough releasing it but its the only way to keep the car from rolling. Everyone with the mt has the same problem with the e brake.

Re: parking brake?!?
If I park my car on the up-hill, i put my 1st gear and pull the e-brake up... then turn off the engine.. and release the clutch.. Samething as down-hill, i put it in reverse, e-brake, turn off the car and release the clutch.

Re: parking brake?!?
Thanks for the input. I actually wasn't planning on parking though. I was just letting a neighbor out of the drivers side rear seat. I also leave it in gear when actually parking on an incline. I guess I just have to use a little more muscle otherwise.
