FIRST OFF SORRY FOR BEING A NEWB... but

Ok, so ive done a search and couldnt really find anything out other than a 350gt in japan? Well that was actually info from a friend. But can someone please explain to me why people are re badging their cars Skyline? someone told me it was the r35 in japan? but that just sounds like crazy talk? Is it "ricer" to rebadge your infinity skyline? Sorry, i just picked mine up and i was just curious what the deal was. I seen like 3-4 in the bay area already.

First learn how to spell Infiniti. The G35 is the Nissan Skyline 350GT in Japan. Alot of people on this forum actually have the Skyline badging. It really comes down to your personal opinion if you want it or not.

^ what he said.
Yes it is the 350gt skyline in japan. I actually went over there for a stopover flight when heading home to Taiwan, I picked up a book there with the g35 (in all japanese) as the topic cover, and it is the 350gt.
Again, it's personal preference.

some people flame on these boards for re-badging as a skyline 350gt because its "not really one." the Infiniti G35 and the Nissan Skyline 350gt are the EXACT same car other than the badges and the american version being LHD. Its funny because when i took off my OEM Infiniti grill to replace it with Ionics gialla replica, it had a Nissan badge on the back of it. so have a few other parts ive taken off my "Infiniti." Its funny that we as americans are so obsessed with brand names. i bet the G35 wouldnt be considered a "luxury" car if it were sold as a Nissan here in the US.

bottom line is it comes down to personal preference. people can say what they want about your car but guess what? its YOUR car and not theirs. so do what you want to it. personally, i have my car re-badged as a Nissan Skyline 350gt because i think its funny to see people crank their heads around as they drive past me trying to get a better look at my car. people drive by a G35 and wont have a second thought about it. they drive past a Skyline 350gt and theyll look twice. sure the car title doesnt say Nissan Skyline 350gt, but its one at heart no matter what the US tries to dress it in.

side note....ive heard that the kids over in Japan re-badge their cars as Infiniti G35's......funny, aint it?

just the one below so far. as far as exterior stuff besides the re-badged rear i have ionic's replica gialla grill with the 350gt badge on it, the JDM clear corners and nissan center caps on the OEM 19's. As far as interior stuff I have the 350z engine cover, the JDM kickplates, and i have the JDM steering wheel cover that im waiting to install. Im not worrying about the clock and the seats because theyre too much work IMO.

looking at the pic...holy orange peel batman!!! lol...its pretty bad on the trunk...blame the cheap Nissan paint, not me!!! The bumper looks as smooth as glass though....

Its not the paint... its the painter. Improper spraying and prepwork.

Most people do it not because it's a skyline 350gt in Japan, they do it because it sounds "faster" than a G35.
I guess they think it also looks cooler too.

The 350z is called the FairladyZ in Japan. You don't see any Z owner re-badge their Z.

The M35/M45 is called the Fuga in Japan. You don't see any M35/45 owner re-badge to the Fuga.. LOL

Why because it doesn't sound as cool as "skyline".

I just don't understand the rebadging. You would think that the members on here would have some pride that they are driving an Infiniti G35. Are they trying to disquise the car. I have seen some rebadged as a GTR.
