Question: ECU Reset Frequency

Shut this down if its been talked about. I searched through several pages of ECU threads and I never got clear answers.

I was just wondering how often people reset their ECUs? I recently installed a Z-Tube/Pop Charger combo, and I reset my ECU using the pedal method. It responded fantastically. But after less than 50 miles, my G because sluggish again. I wasn't just getting used to the increased responsiveness, because I reset it again, and it re-beasted itself.

So. To reiterate the question: How often do you reset your ECUs?

I mean, outside of getting it tuned professionally. I'm somewhat strapped for cash.

Personally,I rarely reset the ECU on my car but that's because of my driving style...aggressive with lots of WOT. Anytime you feel the car getting sluggish you can reset the ECU.

If you reset the ECU and don't drive aggressive while the ECU relearns then it will quickly go back to "Granny" mode. This sounds like what happened with you after your 50 mile drive.

actually on the contrary. I drove hard, meaning flooring it a lot, hard stops, driving on highways as much as possible.
