Doing "bolt on mods"

I hear a lot of people saying "Why wait for the 2005 G? The 18 mph gain is neglible and you can get those gains with bolt on mods anyway."

Now I know this is an enthusiast forum and there are some really smart people here who are good with cars. But I would bet there are way more people who aren't planning on modding there cars at all.

My Pro's and Cons of modding the car

Pro's

Can make your car unique. One of a kind

Can add as much horsepower as your wallet will allow

Performance gains in handling, braking, quickness etc

I can't think of any more but I'm sure others can

Con's

Good chance it could void your warranty

Good chance you won't pass emissions

Some of us aren't talented and or confident enough to do it ourselves without tearing up our cars

I don't think any of these high performance mods will be covered by insurance. Since if you told your insurance company that your car is now turboed/supercharged then your insurance premiums would go up.

It's expensive!

Is the mod your doing street legal

Some mods could do damage to your engine so there is a high maintenance factor

I think the 03-04's look like total sh*t.

The 05's are obviously a superior car in every posible way.
Clearly the 05's are 1000x better looking inside and out.

Uhhhhh.....what does your [asinine] comment have to do with modding?
Save your comments for when you own a car.....then you can trash everyone else's ride.

Phenom-

Your pros vs cons is the argument that many of the G owners engage in with themselves when faced with the mod bug. It all comes down to, as my stockbroker put it, "one's tolerance for risk."
