^+1 to a fellow Charlotte member. I painted mine myself about a year ago and it looks great still.

Here's the ultimate question: matte black or gloss black?

paint! It's not a bad process at all. Get as much DIY stuff done as you can. Because theres a lot of stuff out there that you can't (or just shouldnt) do, and this ain't one of them

Its way too simple. DON'T PAY FOR THIS. Lol. Just take off the 4 pins in the top of the grill, get some primer, black paint, and clear coat paint, and paint! I've done mine a few times now. I did about 8 coats of clear last time though and have had no chipping since.

haha not to be annoying but i'll reiterate. It's simple. It was so easy that I started painting other things too. The easiness became somewhat of an addiction. I now have black door panel handle things (okay theres a name for this, i'm just too tired to think of it) and a black cell phone case (which... in the end turned out kind of retarded). You get the picture.

and gloss.

Clear coat makes it gloss no matter what right? Cuz you want clear coat.
