first, i have a 03 6mt and whenever im not moving there is a small sound coming from the engine. its sounds like a gear is running or something, but whenever i push the clutch in the sound is gone. did anyone have this problem too? second, when i'm at a stop light, i try to get into first gear, but sometimes it doesn't seem like it wants to go, but if i hold down my clutch for a few sec it will go. anyone know what's up with this?

 

The answer to your first question is probably noise from the throwout bearing. It willl rattle and chatter with the clutch out. Normally this sound doesn't indicate a problem.

mine does this when the car is rolling even just a tad bit, i think its something to do with the 1st gear lock out thing. like when your going a certain speed ( not sure how fast) it locks out first gear, meaning it wont let you shift into 1st. but doesnt bother me.

 

but why would the car lock me out of first gear when i'm not moving at all?
