who would win against those two. I know two people that went at it today and my friends told me that the Z was stick.

The s2k beat him but he just got his car so im assuming that he has not gotten used to the shifting.

What do yall think???

 

s2k is a very fast car because it is a lite car plus it is fast in a striaght line. If Z and S2K were to race in a racetrack, Z would be ahead of S2K in the 3rd or 4th lap and yes it is the way the driver drives the car. There was a video clip somewhere in this forum that shows G35 C can beat S2K in the 4th lap.

That's all track dependent. If there are longer straight aways than curves the 350z will pull ahead because of hp advantage. If the track is curvey I don't think there is a chance for the 350z to catch up, s2000 is by far more nimble to handle the curves. Not saying s2000 will beat 350z by a bus load here but its hard to believe a 3400lb car can out handle a sub 3000lb car.

I raced a S2k in G35 6MT a few months ago from a 10 MPH roll. The S2k had an intake and carbon fiber hood too, while my car was stock. Right from the start, I easily pulled a car length on him in 1st. I was able to get a really quick shift to 2nd, got a little wheel spin, and put another half car length on him in 2nd. So he's 1.5 car lengths back now, and I could here him really revving that thing, but to my surprise, he's not gaining on me. I go to 3rd, 4th, and he couldn't gain an inch on me - stayed 1.5 car length back the whole time. I shut it down at 90.

I was surprised I beat him actually - I thought S2k's were faster than that, especially with some aftermarket goodies like he had. This race showed that car's weakness though: a really peaky high revving powerplant with no torque. It was the broader power band and much better torque of the G35 that allowed me to pull on him at the beginning of the race, and the S2K just didn't have enough to make up the difference later on.

So based on my experience, yeah, a 350Z could beat an S2k if he knows how to drive.

If its a street race the 350Z will burn the S2000, Zs can do 0-60 in like 5.3 - 5.5 while S2000 takes 5.8-6.0.........1/4 this caranddriver test got 13.77 with the Z, the fastest 1/4 i saw the S2000 do was 14.1

A friend of mine sent me a vid of someone he knows in another Z racing a friend of his in a S2000. Stock on stock. First from a 40 roll, then from a stop. From a 40, the s2000 had no chance, however, the Z driver wasnt that fast in the gear changes. From a stop, the S2000 stayed even (it really looked like the guy knew how to launch it) but after 40, the Z began pulling again. S2000's have a HUGE dead zone before they get to their power, while we have the TQ curve that starts low, and ends after were already in our sweet spot. While it really is a drivers race, the S2000's I've raced all seemed inexperience with launching in vtec and I've embarrased them like civics, especially when you start from a roll. Throw in some twisties and it could get more interesting, but just because the S2000 is more "nimble" the FM platform really shines in corners, so never put something ahead because its lighter. I know theres someone on here with a Z06 and a G35, and reading his post on tracking both cars, was very surprised to find how the G did. Just because we have a J-lo *** end, doesnt mean we handle like boats. =)

Yes, the G35 is an excellent handler. I would say it offers 90% of the handling of a Z06.

The S2K is also an excellent handler, and I would say that in the hands of a very skilled driver, an S2K would be faster than a G in the twisties. I don't think the S2K is as easy to drive at the limit, and definitely isn't as forgiving or catchable as a G35, which is why I say in the hands of a very skilled driver.
