The bose system sounds fine, especially with audio CDs.

Not sure about the BMW comment. My friend has an 07 335 and although his system is pretty good, I think my 04's bose slightly edges it out in terms of sound quality.

Now, I'll agree that the rattles somewhat kill the experience, but I'm gonna fix the rattles this summer.

As for the other comments, I think a volume of 10 is plenty loud, I rarely go higher, so I've never heard any distortion.

The other guy was generalizing, but my statement should be taken with a grain of salt. It's a M5 vs a 335i. Totally different, on both the M model and the 3 vs 5 series.

Just generalizing? Go ahead and show me a common mass produced car where the stock option audio setup is something better than what could be done aftermarket for the same price? Don't try to tell me I'm just generalizing without one example to prove me wrong.

True. I was trying to compare two similarly priced cars. For what we pay, the Bose system isn't all that bad.

I was referring to cpufreak and his buddy's 335i.

Chill, Jesus dude.

Also, it's plain out dumb to say "an aftermarket setup with no cost cap can be better than any stock system." Well duh. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. You throw enough money at something and it'll be good.

That said, I think it's well known that the Bang and Oulfsen speaker setup in the Audi R8's (it's like a $4000 option) is about as good as it gets.

Alright. My truck had a $500 option sound system (actually less, cause the $500 included back up sensors, which alone is like a $250 dollar option), but I'll give you some credit.

You really think you can get a setup that sounds better than an 500W Alpine 8 speaker + 10" sub sound system for $500 installed?

I Listen to alot of different artists, such as ATB, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk...I believe Dynamat will greatly improve the sound and will stop the rattles...

Honestly, the BOSE in my dads 08 Silverado LTZ sounded better than the bose in our old 04 G35. But then the 08 G we had with the 'Bose Surround Sound Studio' pretty much shamed both of those.

I put some Precision COmponents and Infinity Kappas in my 05 G, and that shames both the truck and our 04 but doesnt sound quite as good as the Bose in our 08. That was a pretty impressive setup for stock.

Honestly, the bose in my old 03 Trailblazer sounded better than our truck and both Gs....
