Here Goes my Window!!!!

So far I've been lucky (almost 11 months), and no problems with these finicky windows......Until today!

I go to get into my car today, and when I close the door, I did not hear the familiar sound of the window going back up......I started my car, lowered the window down and back up, and then shut the car off and tried it again....and it worked normal.....

A couple more times and it was fine.....then I move my car to let my wife out of the garage, and when I turn my car off and close the door, the window moves back up, and then goes down about 1/4 of the way......I used the window switch to close the window back up. Now I'm afraid each time I enter my car the window is going to go down and stay down....

Is this the tell tale sign that the motor is on its way out, or do I have to reset something to get it back to normal......

any advise? Thanks for letting me rant.....I hate like hell to take the car to the dealer, But if it needs to be replaced, its going back
Dennis

Take it to the dealer, they are well aware of this problem. Happened to my drivers side window about 2 months ago. Got it fixed, works well now.

My driver side window motor was replaced 2 weeks ago. Seems to be a common problem.

Yes, this a royal pain, but the dealer should fix it. I had both windows fail completely....one failed while it was raining hard....man I was pissed.

Be sure to fuss at Infiniti HQ about it as there needs to be an official recall or something similar. Also DO NOT FORGET to make sure your windows lower equally on both sides...my dealer messed the timing up and my passenger drops way lower than the driver's side. Good luck!!

Re: Here Goes my Window!!!!

Thnks everyone for your encouragement, it makes me breathe alot easier knowing I'm not going crazy.......
I realize things will occassionally break, but something like the window staying in the down position scares me......Bad enough with all the vandals, but if it rains................I will be real PISSED!

Luckily, I don't think they are forecasting any more rain by me for at least 5 Days, with a little luck I'll have it repaired.

I do believe they have another source for the window motors now, correct?
Should I bitch like a girl and make them replace the pass. side as well?

Thanks again for letting me rant......I just hate taking the car back to the dealer for this kind of work......although I will admit, the dealership I go to has a pretty good service dept......
we will see.................................

Re: Here Goes my Window!!!!

mine goes in tues for driver window inop most of the time, started automatically going down today when reaching top.
also going in for front brakes, hopefully they will give me new rotors.rear axel creak pop, brakelight switch recall, and will mention gas gauge doesnt go to full. might try to get rear pads also by telling them they squeal.

Got my fix also,Take it back and get another car to drive but be kindna nice to them because they didn't make the car.And expect another one gonna burn out also but don't worry when your window start to do something funny you still have time to take it back before it really burn out.6b/b

Re: Here Goes my Window!!!!

called the dealer today, they didn't act surprised, service rep acted more like......." oh, it lasted a year!"

Problem is, they do not have the motors in stock, and will have to order one. ( I was told they are on backorder, which makes sense since every ones' seem to be going)

I'll just have to see how long it takes, so far the weather forecast in my area is for sunny skies for the next 5 days.....hopefully the window will stay in the up position until then.........
